About Us & About You

Dr. Mark Robinson
Founder

I am a Swedish-British academic, Senior Science Diplomacy Advisor to the Oxford Martin School AI Governance Initiative at Oxford University and an Affiliate of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California. This initiative, and the website supporting it, are entirely private and independently directed.

My career has taken me through several of the world’s major “Big Science” collaborations, and my research explores what global governance can learn from these models of multinational cooperation. My work has been published in International Affairs, Global Policy, and the Science Diplomacy Review.

I now lead a growing international effort to bring world leaders, technology executives, and policy experts into a shared conversation about the future of AI, one grounded in ethical foresight and global accountability. Together with amazing core supporters, I advocate for the creation of an International AI Agency under the auspices of the United Nations: a body capable of establishing a binding governance framework that includes all major powers and meaningfully engages Big Tech.

A new intergovernmental organisation for AI is not a distant aspiration; it is an emerging necessity. If you share this conviction, come and join us.

YOU
[One thousand and seventy so far registered and more joining every day]

You are passionate about the possibilities of AI, but skeptical that Big Tech will ever truly self-regulate. Like me, you appreciate the power these tools offer—and many of you are even shaping their future through your own work. However, you are uneasy that, while there are countless national and regional initiatives to regulate AI, there is no over-arching international body to co-ordinate these efforts.

You have been waiting for a website like this to emerge where you can register your support and suggest areas where you can contribute to the cause.
